Book Drive

“The more that you read, the more things you will know. The more that you learn, the more places you’ll go.” – Dr. Seuss

During these last two weeks of May, City of Refuge Ministries along with our friend, Meredith Chase, is running a Charitable Book Drive to help provide books for the 70 children in residential care at City of Refuge Ministries in Ghana, West Africa and the over 200 children attending our school each day.

Faith Roots International Academy, the school run by City of Refuge Ministries, provides classes for children whose ages range from 2 years old through the 9th grade. Our ultimate goal is to replace dated and worn books and provide many more new books to our library, a minimum of 1 additional new book per student. Usborne Books & More (a children’s book publisher) will be matching 50% of all funds/sales collected to help us get to our goal!

Our goal is to raise $2500.00 towards the purchase of new books.

**Book Drive ends May 31, so act now!**

Books help our students to experience places outside of Ghana.

Here’s how it works:

1) Buy books for your own readers here: book e-fair shopping link. The publisher rewards from this fundraiser will all be donated to the Faith Roots International Academy library so any purchases you make will increase the giving.

2) Contribute directly in our GoFundMe page here. Your donations will go straight to buying books for the library and also add to the book rewards, so this way is definitely more bang for your buck. (If you prefer to avoid the fees, send via PayPal (essentialOC@gmail.com) or via Venmo (@Meredith-Chase-1) and memo Faith Roots Library).

"Faith Roots’ existing library is something that sets them apart from other schools in the surrounding area, and we are honored to come alongside them to expand and update this essential resource." - Meredith Chase
